Rat Time

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, I've just been caught up with life. But I'll make up for it with all the pics I have so far of the rats (sent to me by their awesome breeder).

And, finally, the news. Yes, I have named my rats!! The runt is Midna and the dalmatian is Zelda (the names are a reference to the Wii and Gamecube game, Twilight Princess, for those of you who are familiar).

Welcome!

Yes, they're here!! They were born yesterday, three days later then expected, but welcome nonetheless. I have not yet seen them in person, and probably will not for several weeks --until I go to pick my ratties up-- but their breeder was kind enough to send me a picture of them. There are ten pups in all, five boys (right) and five girls (left) and they are five hours old in the picture. They are very large for pups, and are almost certainly going to be berkshires, according to Miss Leslie.

Well, now the only thing left to do is wait for them to be old enough that I can take home a pair. Excited excited excited!! :D

Home Sweet (Rattie) Home

Ok, picked up the cage (and a few toys, how could I not?) today, and everything's all set up and waiting for the ratties. ;)

It's 30"L X 18"W X 30"H, and came equipped with a hammock:



Along with that, I bought a litter box for training:



I also bought a ladder, which didn't come with it, (you can see it in the first picture of the whole cage) and a few chew toys. The food dish was included, and I already have a water bottle for them.

Now all I need is the rats!!!!!!!

New Bike

I never said, but Daddy has a motorcycle. It was a pretty good motorcycle anyway . . . But we've moved up. Yesterday we went to Florida to pick up Daddy's NEW bike. (well, new to him, but used. Still in awesome condition, though!!!!!) And it rides SO smooth! It's as good as the Goldwing he'd been dreaming of. ^_^ Now we just need to sell his old bike. ;-)

Bee Pics

Sorry it's been such a long time, but I've been busy.. (YES, AGAIN. -_-)

But, I have some pics to show you from when I went to a beekeeping class.

Maybe not a good idea since now daddy wants to get a hive....

And also since one of my friends that was there with me is deathly afraid of bees.

Oh well. We had fun!

I'll put them all in a different post, since I'm having trouble with this one.

Lazy Bugs

My nieces are long gone, and I'm back to my walking schedule. . .

30 minutes, every day, no matter how cold it is.

Might not always be fun, but it was my only New Years resolution this year, and I'm sticking with it.

So, yesterday when I was walking, I found a little green bug lying on the path. (a stink bug, but, hey, I don't have one for my collection yet!)

It looked dead, so I took it home to add to my collection of well-preserved dead bugs.

But while my mother and I were looking at it under the magnifying glass, what did it do other than wake up and start wiggling about!

Apparently, it had gotton so cold that it was hibernating!

And today, I found more! Another stink bug, and a cricket! All hibernating in the cold.

Color

Lately, it's seemed so bleak. Not that it isn't pretty, winter is my favorite season. But sometimes I wish it were just a little more colorful. I miss the flowers, and the bugs, (but NOT the gnats) I just miss the color of it all. So, here's what comes of a girl dreaming of more color.
